NL tops AL in Mid-Summer Classic

Once again, the National League proved itself to be the better league as they topped the AL in this season's All-Star game by a score of 6-3. The key hit of the ballgame came in the 5th as the AL led 3-2 but the NL loaded the bases with one out and they had Salt Lake City's Vic James at the plate. James hit a double, clearing the bases and giving the NL a lead they would not relinquish. Trenton's Dave Dunwoody earned the win, while Monterrey's Luther Brush took the loss. Huntington's Lonny Gates and Jackson's Fausto Almanza earned the start for the NL and AL, respectively. James ended up taking home the MVP honors.
